A resolution was adopted at this year’s Conference that called on the Executive Committee to survey members on the response of the Union to media attacks and on the actions taken to protect pay and conditions.

The Survey attempts to gauge the level of members’ engagement with the Union and to get views on issues like Branch Organisation, the Role of ICTU and Union mergers. In order to assist in collating responses, all questions require a straight ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ response so it ought to be possible for the survey to be completed by members in a matter of minutes. The survey is not a ballot and is certainly not an attempt to re-run any of the ballots conducted in the last 18 months on industrial action or on the Public Service Agreement. Rather it is designed to get behind these results in order to identify areas that might require improvement.

The survey will close at 5.00 p.m. on Friday 30 July 2010.
