Glennon's Motor Insurance & Home Insurance
The Union has special insurance schemes to cover motor and
home insurance arranged with Frank Glennon Ltd. These schemes have been specially
designed for PSEU members and are known as Homesure and Drivesure. Many members have made
significant savings by availing of these arrangements and you could do likewise if you check
the rates available before insuring your home or your car.
Glennons have reviewed the rates which apply to both schemes, this has resulted in rates reductions are being
applied to a number of rating factors under each scheme. These changes will result in reductions in car insurance varying
from 4% up to as much as 35% where a member qualifies for all the reductions. Most members should receive reductions of
between 10% and 15%. The reductions on Home Insurance will vary from 5% to 15%
Extra cover is also being granted free of charge under the PSEU Drivesure policy. The policy now covers the cost of
replacement of car keys, car key cards, car locks and car lock transmitters up to €750.00 where they have been stolen
following a forcible break in at your permanent residence or a forcible break in to your room in any temporary residence
where you intend spending the night or following an assault or threat of violence on any authorised keyholder.
We hope to be in a position to announce further policy enhancements in the near future.
The spouses and partners of all our members also qualify for the PSEU Car Insurance Scheme and we would remind members that
female policyholders can also avail of our special second car discount where their Spouse or Partner owns a car equal to or
larger than their own. Typical savings of up to 16% can be achieved when changing from Open Driving to driving by Insured
and Spouse and availing of this discount.
Any members or their spouses not currently getting this discount should notify
us of the second car details so that the change in cover can be made if required and the appropriate discount allowed.
