Death in Service

The death benefit is €5,000. The conditions for the Death Benefit are that a person is a member and has been a member for 12 months at the time of death. This scheme was extended to cover partners/spouses of members from 1 April 2012. As it is insurance based deaths after the 1 April 2012 are covered

In order to process a claim for Death in Service Benefit, the claimant should forward an original copy of the Birth Certificate, Death Certificate and the name and address of the next of kin in respect of the deceased member to George Maybury at PSEU Head office. In the case of a spouse/partner of a member Friends First will also require an original  copy of a Marriage Certificate or other documentary proof of a partnership

Arrangements will then be made with Lyons Financial Services and Friends First to make the payment
